Miss Sporty Makeup!

HELLO!

Today I want to talk to those of you who read my blog about Miss Sporty makeup! I've never really delved into Miss Sporty before but I was recently contacted by them to do a concert/gig makeup look so I checked out a lot of the makeup and am very pleasantly surprised! Here are my top 3 favourites..

My outright favourite of the bunch is the Miss Sporty Perfect Stay Concealer. This is a super creamy formula which sets beautifully with powder and doesn't crease - I have under-eyes that crease super easily whenever I wear concealer and this somehow avoids that! I would agree with the 10 hour wear claim - for me it lasts all day long without needing to be touched up! Definitely a new favourite of mine.

The second product that's fairly new on my obsession list is the Miss Sporty Pump Up Booster Mascara! This mascara is amazing at lengthening lashes whilst keeping them really voluminous yet not clumpy - the best of both worlds! Check it out!

A product that I didn't feature in my video but one that has also stood out to me is the Miss Sporty Fabulous Eyes Glossy Eyeshadow. I have mine in a beautiful brown shade that is super shimmery and perfect for someone who wants a really easy eye look! It's quick to blend if you want to sweep it across the lids and go but it also works amazingly with eyeshadow on top!

Have you tried any Miss Sporty makeup?

See you next time!

3 Easy Halloween Looks!

Hey guys!

I've been challenged by H&M to create three creative Halloween looks using their amazing accessories! I've also made a video which I'll link at the end of this post if you'd like to see the steps towards creating the makeup looks in more detail!

BAT

The first look I decided to do was a bat one with the bat headband from H&M. I decided on very dark, vampy makeup as I like the way it compliments the black headband. This makeup reminds me a lot of the Black Swan mixed with a character from the Incredibles but I think it's such a cool way to go if you want something super simple yet effective! The lipstick I used was H&M's Purple Reign - its a beautiful burgundy shade that glides on the lips like butter!

BUNNY

The next makeup look is something a little bit more cute! I always like to go as the 'cute' character when I dress up for Halloween.. I mean, someones got to channel Regina George, right?!
I based this look on the bunny headband which is one of my favourite pieces! I decided to colour parts of my face in with brown, grey and black eyeshadow and add a little black nose to finish the look!

SPIDER

Onto the last makeup look which is inspired by this gorgeous spider choker and web necklace duo! I'm absolutely terrified of spiders but I put aside my fear to create a web design on one of my eyes.

I'm LOVING H&M's Halloween range and will definitely be heading there to pick some more things up! Check it out if you're still stuck on what to wear for Halloween!

Finally, I'd like to say a massive thank you to H&M for helping me with this video!

Pretty Little Liars Alison Tutorial

So I got challenged by one of my all time favourite chocolate bars 'Kinder Bueno' to create a deliciously different makeup look - something unlike anything I'd usually wear. Of course, I took to twitter and asked what you guys wanted to see and I got an overwhelming amount of response asking for Alison DiLaurentis' makeup look at the end of the season 6 mid season finale! As a MASSIVE Pretty Little Liars fan, I jumped at the chance to do this makeup which fits the bill of being different from something I'd usually wear!

Kinder Bueno is a chocolate bar with a creamy hazelnut filling, surrounded by a crispy coating. It's a super tasty way to have a sweet treat throughout the day and is split into two bars so you can take one on the go and save one for later/another day! If you haven't tried it already, it's a MUST!

Four of the main products I used to create this look were the MAC Face And Body Foundation, a hot pink blush in the shade Flush from Tarte, a blue toned pink lipstick from MAC called 'Snob' and some fluttery Eyelure lashesThese pretty much matched what Ali had on perfectly and I'm super happy with how the look turned out!

Let me know what you think of the final look in the comments or on twitter (@velvetgh0st)

See you soon!

The Perfect Tea & Cake Stop

Before I go on my 5 week sugar detox, I thought I'd share a yummy cake related post with you all! One of my favourite places to stop by when I'm in Brighton town is the Blackbird Tea Rooms.. They do the nicest cake and sweet treats but also have a lovely lunch menu too!

I usually go for the Victoria sponge but this time, myself and my friend Lydia thought we'd share a sausage sandwich and chocolate cake.. I could eat them both again right now!
Lucy had the Victoria sponge and I have to say, that will always remain my favourite but the chocolate was delicious too! They also do a range of teas, I always go for a fruity one with blackcurrant in but it's the perfect cafe for tea lovers!

I LOVE the decor of the cafe, it's like you've taken a trip back to the 1900's as soon as you step through the door. From old photos from the war period to flowery wallpaper and cute little patterned plates, it makes for a lovely trip back in time.

If you're after a naughty little treat while perusing the shops, definitely stop by the Blackbird Tea Rooms!

Where's your favourite cafe?

A Day In Brighton

A few weeks ago I decided to take my mum on a little outing into Brighton. We got some lunch and did a bit of shopping and I thought I'd take you along!

The first place we went was Pizza Express to get some food!

 Garlic Dough Balls

 Bosco Salad (Mums!)

 Romana Padana Pizza
(Minus spinach.. Replaced with pesto!)

After food, we went on a little walk around Brighton. It was absolutely freezing so we didn't spend long shopping but here are some cute little shots that I took along the way!

One of my favourite things in Brighton is the art work that seems to be everywhere!
As a massive fan of Alice In Wonderland, I think this one is a cute little take on the story and it's I always find it lovely to see bright art out and about.

Two of my favourite things in the M&S homeware collection - I didn't buy them but I think they'd look fab on a shelf!

One of my favourite shops in Brighton is 'Heals'. Unfortunately it costs about £1,000 to buy a bloody button but I love to go in and have a nosey anyway.
OBSESSED with these lights!

Although I've never been in, I've always walked past Patisserie Valerie and admired the cakes in the window. They look freaking amazing! I'll make it my aim to go in someday and when I do, you'll be the first to know!

Have you ever been to Brighton?

American Candy

The lovely gang at Taffy Mail sent me a box of American Candy to try. Taffy Mail is a candy subscription service - it's £14.99 a month and you receive 10-12 mystery candies from America - perfect if you enjoy trying new things! Use the code CANDY2 for £2 off your first box! I thought I'd share with you some of my most and least favourite things from the box i was sent.

MY LIKES :

Dessert Skittles
These little drops of fruity fun were one of my favourites from the box. My favourite flavour was the pink one - Strawberry Milkshake. I could have eaten an entire bucket full!

Mike And Ike
I'm not usually a fan of sour sweets but these were different. The outside of the sweets were slightly sour but when you bit into them, they were super sweet and delicious! My definite favourite from the bunch.

Sunkist Grape
I'm not usually a fizzy drink lover but this grape soda was right up my street! It's packed with fruity flavour and is a delicious treat to have if you're not in the mood for sweets!

Extra Desserts
Mint chocolate chip ice cream is my favourite ice cream flavour, so put that into gum for and you're definitely onto a winner with me.

A COUPLE OF DISLIKES :

Rocky Road
Essentially just a marshmallow dipped in chocolate and filled with cashew nuts - I don't like nuts in general, or marshmallows covered in chocolate so this wasn't my cup of tea.

Warheads
This reminded me a lot of a sweet we have in England called Dib Dabs. You basically have a bunch of sour flavoured sherbet and two dipping sticks to pick it up on. I've never been a fan of these, way too messy and sour for me!

Whats your favourite American candy?

The Best Trainers In Town

As some of you might have seen on Twitter, I've decided to get off the sofa and attempt to get fit - shocking, I know! I thought, if I post fitness bits and bobs on my blog, it'll inspire me to keep it up - so here I am with my first fitness post! Hopefully you guys like this new little section of my page!

As a youtuber, I'm often lucky enough to get sent things to review - it's usually makeup but this time when I went to my P.O Box, I had a little Adidas surprise waiting for me.
Stella McCartney has launched a range of work out gear and it's right up my street! With its bold and bright colours, it's a lot more inspiring (I find) than a plain black work out outfit and if this can't get me inspired to work out, I don't know what will.

One of the items I was sent were a pair of Stellasport Yvori trainers (£70)* and I fell in love with them straight away. These colour block trainers are perfect for brightening up any dull outfit (or day) and are the comfiest things I've ever stepped my feet into.. I'd describe them as 'clouds'.

Inside the shoe, theres a neoprene (I think) section that goes over the foot - this is what makes them so comfy and sturdy to wear as it holds your foot in place so it doesn't flop out of the shoe. Amazing invention! I want that in every pair of shoes I own!

Will you get fit with me?
